Woodland Farm is located on the Ohio River, 19 miles from Louisville. Oak Grove completely restored the house as a private residence, conserving the thick, solid-brick walls and installing services and systems including a dumb waiter.

A brick building of about 1845, the house was built according to proportions in New Englander Asher Benjamin’s building guides of the 1820s.

As part of the restoration project, Oak Grove Restoration Company recreated a vanished Greek Revival porch using Asher Benjamin’s 1827 guide.

All the windows were taken to our shop in Maryland and rebuilt, splicing new wood with the original. Doors, windows, and many other pieces of joinery were recreated in our mill shop to match precisely the original design.

In 1998, Woodland Farm House became the largest single property in Kentucky on the National Register of Historic Places.
