Lincoln’s Cottage, an 1842 Gothic Revival house, was the summer home of President Lincoln and is a National Monument and National Trust Historic Site.

Oak Grove was a member of the team that restored the interior of the building to the time of Lincoln’s tenure and renovated the adjacent 1905 Beaux-Arts style building for the Visitor Education Center.

For the project, Oak Grove stripped, restored, and prepared all woodwork for decorative finishes and applied all decorative painted finishes.

Oak Grove protected all historic fabric through 16-month construction period and cut historic fabric for all mechanical subcontractors.

Oak Grove also removed, catalogued, restored, and reinstalled all historic wood windows and doors and their accompanying hardware.
